Mit der Dokumentation „THE DORP – 40 days of our lives“ zeigt Downsideup Film aus Deutschland auf beeindruckende Weise das Leben in den Cape Flats (Afrikaans: DIE KAAPSE VLAKTE).
Wie schon in Beiträgen zuvor erwähnt, schuf die Apartheidsregierung dort Behausungen für nicht-weiße Südafrikaner, die nach den Bestimmungen des 1950 erlassenen Group Areas Act nicht länger im Kapstadter Zentrum, etwa im District Six, leben durften.
